Serbia’s legendary tennis star
Novak Djokovic holds five of the
easiest Grand Slam runs in the last century, according to the ELO ratings.
The 36-year-old is often regarded as the greatest player in the
history of tennis in the men’s singles category, having won as many as 24 titles
in his illustrious career.
However, according to the latest ELO rating, five of those titles came after Djokovic had the easiest Grand Slam run in the last century. Those
runs were in the US Open in 2023, Wimbledon in 2021 and 2022, Australian Open
in 2023 and the French Open in 2023.
Despite that, Djokovic will once again start the Australian
Open 2024 where he has won the title most (10 times). The first Grand Slam of
the year is set to begin on Sunday where players from all over the world will
compete to secure the ultimate prize.
Djokovic is coming into the competition on the back of an
impressive season where he ended up winning three out of four Grand Slams. His
only defeat in a major tournament in 2023 came in the final at Wimbledon to
Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz with a score of 1–6, 7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6, 6–4.
