Novak Djokovic is not slowing down as he produced another spectacular effort to down
Andrey Rublev at the
Australian Open 6-1 6-2 6-4 to advance.
The Serbian player is looking stronger and stronger with every match and this one was rather simple to start. Leaving Rublev frustrated with everything that he did, Djokovic easily cruised in both sets essentially picking his spots where he'll start playing better and gain an advantage. It was a great effort overall as he took an early break in the opening set to take it 6-1.
He then did the same thing in the second set but this time around taking it 6-2. The final set saw more battle but the score was generally decided early on as Djokovic opened with a 2-0 lead and then just focused on getting the match done. Rublev had some good moments and played well at times but it was just not good enough.
The 26th win for Djokovic in a row at the Australian Open as he moves into the semi-final. He never lost a semi-final match in Australia before. He never lost a final either so we'll see if that changes in the next few days.
