Spain was favoured to win the Davis Cup Finals due to hosting it in Malaga as well as having a superb team however they will be without their best.
Rafael Nadal was never going to play at the Finals anyways but they will be without number one player Carlos Alcaraz who suffered an abdominal injury in Paris. The team will be represented by pretty strong players like Bautista Agut and Carreno Busta with a couple of them playing doubles.
Busta is not worried about their chances believing them to be strong enough:
"The Davis Cup is different because you play for the team. It has nothing to do with the circuit. It is true that Alcaraz and Nadal are not there, but we have a good team, and we will do our best to win the title."
He added:
"It's nice to be number one, but I would prefer to be number three if Carlos and Rafa were there because we would be stronger. In any case, I feel ready. Both me and Roberto have already played many qualifiers".
