The ATP 250
Delray Beach Open will take place from February 12 to 18 in Palm Beach County,
Florida, and has announced its prize money. The tournament will feature a total
prize money pool of $661,585, with the champion earning over $100,000 for the
first time in its history.
This marks
the 32nd edition of the ATP 250, and the top eight seeds are all within the
top-50 rankings, led by the defending champion
Taylor Fritz, along with other
top players like
Tommy Paul and
Adrian Mannarino.
The draw
consists of 28 players (with the top 4 seeds receiving byes in the first
round). Prize money breakdown for the players includes just over $7,000 for the
first round and $11,600 in the second round. Those reaching the quarterfinals
will earn nearly $20,000, and semifinalists will receive $34,500.
The
runner-up will take home $58,000, and the champion will receive a substantial
total of $100,000, marking the first time the winner reaches that figure in
Delray Beach.
Notable players to watch
Until now,
no player has won Delray Beach twice, so Taylor Fritz (No. 12) will aim to make
history. This will be his fifth career tournament victory after defeating
Miomir Kecmanovic 6-0, 5-7, 6-2. He will have a good opportunity to enter the
'sunshine double'—with the Masters 1000 events in Indian Wells and the Miami
Open—as the next major challenges for top players.
Fritz will
be joined by his compatriot Tommy Paul (No. 14), Adrian Mannarino (No. 19), and
Dan Evans (No. 38). Notable appearances include the young Matteo Arnaldi (No. 41)
and the Chinese teenager Shang Juncheng (No. 140).
