Roberto Bautista Agut barely escaped a 5th set against Andy Murray who spent four more hours on the court today but ultimately lost in four sets 6-1 6-7(7) 6-3 6-4.

Murray arrived at this match very tired due to playing two 5-set matches that were both long. It was quite evident in the first set as Murray struggled to find any kind of rhythm. Bautista cruised quickly to a 6-1 finish in 28 minutes. The second set started with the Spaniard taking another early break but eventually, Murray battled back and forced a tiebreak.

He was down 2-5 in the tiebreak but once again battled back and actually won the tiebreak 9-7. The third set was closely contested once more as neither player was able to find any kind of advantage early. Towards the end, Bautista was able to take advantage of a tired Murray and win the set 6-3.

The same thing happened in the final set again as the Spaniard was able to get it done 6-4. It was a strong showing from Murray but an even better one from Roberto Bautista Agut. He hit 50 winners in this match and only 29 winners.
