Rublev wins 2023 edition of Red Bull Bassline prior to Madrid Open

The 2023 edition of the Red Bull Bassline event was held in Madrid prior to the Madrid Open and it was won by Andrey Rublev who bounced back quickly from his Banja Luka disappointment.

The last time Rublev stood on a tennis court after his final loss to Lajovic in Banja Luka was in Madrid for the Red Bull event. It's a quick exhibition event that was conceptualized by Stefanos Tstisipas a few years ago and it was generally held much later in the year in Vienna. This time around it shifted to Madrid and it was won by Andrey Rublev.

Several players contested the first clay Red Bull event such as Feliciano López, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Sebastian Korda, Andrey Rublev, Dominic Thiem, Frances Tiafoe, Martín Landaluce and Casper Ruud with Rublev proving the best among them. It was a good warm-up for the Russian head of the Madrid Open.
