Stan Wawrinka keeps on winning in Metz

Stan Wawrinka finally discovered some proper form as the Swiss player won his 3rd match in Metz after pushing through the qualifiers.

It was only a round one match for Wawrinka but a very important win against a solid player like Sousa. The Swiss already won two matches earlier this week as part of the qualifiers and now will get a chance to test himself against Medvedev.

It should be a great match and a challenge that Wawrinka will embrace as he enjoys tennis after not being able to play over a year. It was a solid match and typical to indoor conditions, the first set went to a tiebreak. Both players were quite strong behind their serve dropping only a handful of points.

Wawrinka had the lower percentage of his first serve and he allowed a break point in the match but saved it. The tiebreak was won easily by Wawrinka 7-1. The second set featured more strong play from him as he eased into a 6-2 second set win to book the straight sets victory.
