The opening set was played a bit better by Wawrinka even though he was the player that needed to save a break point. We went into the tiebreak and in it, it was the backhand that reigned supreme.

Wawrinka finished it off with 7-2 to take the opening set. The 2nd set was practically identical with both player having no issues in winning their service games. Wawrinka was the only player that faced a break point once again and once again he saved it. In the tiebreak, it was Tiafoe who was excellent saving a match point to force a decided 10-8.

The final set was another spectacular one. Tiafoe jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. He maintained that lead relatively easily until the moment he needed to finish off the match. He lost his serve at 5-4 and then squandered a 40-15 lead on Wawrinka's serve. We went into yet another tiebreak and it was Stan who proved better.
