A very tricky match for Tsitsipas ended up going the full distance but the Greek player managed to survive by winning the fifth set and ending the 4-hour battle.
The final score was 6-4 6-4 3-6 4-6 6-3 for Tsitsipas as he really played well to start the match. Sinner was all over the place to start the match missing quite a bit. It was very similar to his matches earlier in the tournament but he faced a tougher opponent as well. Tsitsipas was very good to start the match and he took the first two sets 6-4 6-4 playing really well.
It turned upside down in the 3rd and fourth sets as Sinner proved really strong during that time. He found his confidence and the shots were falling quite a bit for him which made all the difference. Doubt arose in Tsitsipas as his shots were very shallow and now with a lot of power leaving Sinner a lot of time to set up properly.
Expecteadly, the level of Sinner dropped off a bit in the 5th set as Tsitispas sensed his chance and attacked. Ultimately, despite a good effort, Sinner wasn't able to withstand the pressure and he lost his serve. It proved very closely because Tsitsipas has his serve carrying him to a really important win for him.
