Andy Murray was contacted by a man in Scotland whose daughter was unable to play tennis on a free court because it was in a dreadful condition.
Murray was quick to respond calling it shambolic and tagging Tennis Scotland in his Tweet. His mother Judy Murray also offered help and advice to the man and now the chief tennis organization of Scotland has agreed to repair to court.
Tennis Scotland chief executive Blane Dodds said:
“We have been working hard with West Dunbartonshire Council to do as
Andy Murray suggested and that helps local authorities and leisure trusts develop their tennis facilities. These facilities have been hit hard and we appreciate that but we are here to help."
Dodds further praised the LTA for doing fantasic work in promoting tennis:
“The LTA has been fantastic in putting resources in place and we,
along with sportscotland, have been working closely with them on this
project and other projects that we are talking to other local
authorities about, so we can actually help develop these types of
quality facilities for the community to enjoy, whether that is
investment or programming.
