Andy Murray travelled to Cincinnati hoping to get some playing time he did just that winning one and losing one match at the Western & Southern Open.
The British player remains adamant in his desire to play tennis and while Murray is far away from his top 3 in the world level he still has tennis left in him. He won a match in Cincinnati before losing to a very good Hubert Hurkacz. Murray had set points in the match and he was very positive after the match:
"This week was fairly positive. I played much better than at Wimbledon and the grass season. This week my body felt good, even if hardcourts are not easy on the body. Physically I was tired after some of the long rallies, but I felt fine."
Murray will now shift focus to the US Open where he will hope to raise his level even further if possible. Last year Murray competed at the event had some stellar moments. He is currently ranked 105th and he will need to start winning some points in order to avoid having to play qualies or relying on wild cards.
