Tsitsipas sets up meeting with Djokovic after victory over Rublev

Tsitsipas had a successful ending of the 2019 Season. He has won 2019 ATP Finals in London. But also Rublev had a pretty successful November. He did not qualify for the ATP Finals, but he managed to win all 4 matches in singles he played at the Davis Cup.

In Abu Dhabi, everybody expected a beautiful match from two youngsters. Tsitsipas opened the match successfully when he has won the first 3 games. Later, he turned away 2 break points his opponent had in 7th game to win the first set 6-3.

In the second set, there was only one break point. Tsitsipas was the one who had it and he was successful in converting it. That guaranteed him an important lead in the second set which he later did not lose. Tsitsipas won also the second set and secured the spot in the semifinal. There he meets Novak Djokovic who did not have to play his quarterfinal match.
