The final of the Upper Austria Ladies' Linz will be held on Sunday and it will be Aryna Sabalenka vs Elise Mertens.
The final of the WTA Linz event will feature two of the best tennis players that have participated in this event. Both of them played great tennis all week long and they found themselves deservedly in the final. Aryna Sabalenka dropped only one set in the four matches she played en route to the final and that came in the match against Krejcikova who is known as a tough out. The rest of the matches she won with ease dominating with her serve and strong baseline play. Her opponent in the final has a similar style of play but her road to the final was bumpier.
Mertens played great tennis all week long but her consistency was not the best. She had to play the decider set in three matches only winning in straight sets against Kudermetova and that was a bit of a surprise. She has a similar aggressive style as Sabalenka but her inability to handle Alexandrova early in that match yesterday showed Sabalenka a path to victory. They played five times so far and Sabalenka leads 3-2. Their last match was this year in February and Aryna won in straight sets. She is considered a slight favourite today as well but it won't be easy and that guarantees a very good match. The match will start at 15:00 CET.
