During his quarterfinal match against Rafael Nadal at the 2022 BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells tournament, Nick Kyrgios got into a war-of-words with a rather vocal spectator
The fan, who must have been close enough to be heard by the Aussie, must have made some choice comments which irritated Kyrgios enough for him to ask "Are you playing?" as he got ready to serve.
The former World No.13 added: "Are you good at tennis?"
In video footage of the encounter, a faint "no" can be heard from the stands. Kyrgios responds: "Exactly, so why are you speaking?"
Referring to actor Ben Stiller, Kyrgios continues: "Do I tell him how to act? No", drawing a laugh from the crowd. Stiller, 56, sitting a few seats away from the fan, is seen smiling too.
Kyrgios would go on to lose the match to Nadal in three close sets.
