Daniil Medvedev ran into a camera in Cincinnati and injured his hand which affected him in the match he ended up losing.
Daniil Medvedev was cruising in his match against Andrey Ruble v taking the first set with 6-2. Early in the 2nd set, Medvedev ran into the camera trying to get a ball knocking it over. The Russian injured his hand in the process and the injury affected his play going forward.
From that moment on the Russian took several medical timeouts in order for the physio to work on his hand but it did not help much. His play got worse and Rublev gained confidence ultimately coming back and winning the match.
Medvedev was not happy about the situation continuing to rant to the umpire explaining he almost broke his hand. The umpire understood his pleas but proceeded to warn him when the Russian kicked the lens. Medvedev argued with the supervisor during the MTO repeating multiple times that he asked the cameras to be moved.
Below you can see a different angle when Medvedev kicked the camera lens. It remains to be seen whteher Medvedev will be fined for this reckless behaviour which could have damaged a presumable expensive lens.
