Serbia’s tennis star
Novak Djokovic showcased his interest
in American football as he prepared ahead of an event in Indiana Wells.
The 36-year-old is often regarded as the greatest player in
the history of tennis in the men’s singles category in the Open era, having won
as many as 24 Grand Slam titles.
Djokovic posted a video on his official profile on the social
media platform Instagram where he showcased his American football skills while
attending the UCLA practice with his son Stefan ahead of the Indiana Wells.
Djokovic had a rather disappointing outing in the first
Grand Slam of the year—the Australian Open—where he was knocked out after
losing in the semifinal to Italy’s Jannik Sinner with a score of 6-1, 6-2, 6-7,
6-3.
Djokovic has an impressive record while playing at the
Indiana Wells where he lifted the title five times. However, his last triumph
at the event came way back in 2016 when he defeated Canada’s Milos Raonic in
the final with a score of 6-2, 6-0.
Last year, the
competition was won by Spain’s young tennis star and the current world number two Carlos
Alcaraz as he defeated the current world number three Russia’s Daniil Medvedev
in the final with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
