Stan Wawrinka revealed his struggles with the coronavirus which he contracted during Christmas and the after-effects that he still feels.
The Swiss man revealed his tough battle against Coronavirus which he initially contracted over Christimas. He said:
“I’m trying to get in shape. I actually got positive during Christmas, so I had to stay more than 10 days at home, so I completely lost all the work I’ve been doing all the offseason."
The timing of it all was really bad for the Swiss player as he was in the middle of preparations for the new season. Speaking about the experience he revealed more details with the illness itself:
“I was really feeling bad during [the first] five days but the symptoms, you keep it, and are really more tired every day and that lasts a few weeks and there is still some symptoms that you get and wonder why."
He further explained:
“It was not a good experience, I had a tough time at home. Now I finally start to see that I am feeling better but it can touch you badly and it’s important to be really careful.”
It will be a tough task for Wawrinka to fully prepare for the
Australian Open but he will not give up and we hope to see the Swiss player in good form as he enjoys playing in Australia where he won his first Grand Slam title.
