Mats Wilander urges Novak Djokovic to seek three Major titles in 2021

The season's first Major is just around the corner in Melbourne, and Novak Djokovic stands as the biggest favorite to lift the ninth Melbourne trophy and continue where he left a year ago.

Wilander believes that Djokovic should chase three Major titles this season and reduce the gap to Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the GOAT race. In the Swede's opinion, Novak is the favorite at the Australian Open, although he needs more titles in the rest of the year to keep the ground with the other two legends.

Mats is aware that the young guns are coming rapidly, making it more challenging and tougher for Novak to chase Major crowns in the upcoming years, as he doesn't get any younger.

"It would surprise me if Novak doesn't win the Australian Open; it would be difficult to beat him. Novak has a chance to reach 20 Majors this year, and if he wants to overtake Roger and Rafa, he has to produce a stellar season. Younger players will become stronger and stronger rivals in the upcoming years, and Novak should use this season to further reduce the gap to Federer and Nadal," Mats Wilander said.
