Carlos Alcaraz's withdrawal from the Australian Open leaves several players with a decent chance of unseating him as the top player in the world as Djokovic, Ruud and Tsitsipas eyeing chances.
Alcaraz announced on social media that he'll be missing the Australian Open due to an injury and he might lose his number one ranking due to that. Several players are in the running to take it and they are Djokovic, Ruud, and Tsitsipas. Djokovic is obviously at the front as he has the chance to win the full 2000 bounty having missed the event last year.

If he does that, he'll emerge over Alcaraz at the top. Tsitsipas has to do the same thing if he hopes to become the number one player in the world. He needs to win the major event to have any chance of making it to the number one rank. Casper Ruud has a really good chance as well as he's only trailing Alcaraz by 1000 points.
He just needs a final and doesn't actually need to win the event unlikely Djokovic and Alcaraz. He spoke about it calling it a great chance for him and he'll try everything to get it.
