"You have to be 100% focused on the activity": Mouratoglou doesn't think Serena Williams will return to tennis

Patrick Mouratoglou knows Serena Williams very well having worked with for years and contrary to many, he does't think she'll make a comeback.
Serena Williams has teased a comeback to tennis a many times since retiring a few months ago and there are plenty of people who believe that she will truly come back. Naomi Osaka is one such person as well as former player Tommy Haas who could see her pull it off. Contrary to that, her longtime coach Patrick Mouratoglou doesn't think it will happen.
Speaking exclusively to Eurosport, he said:
“Do I want to see her play? I want to see her play again. Yes, yes, if she enjoys herself on the court. For that, she has to feel strong. If she doesn't feel strong, she won't enjoy herself. I want to see her play good tennis. If she can play good tennis, of course, I want to see her play. Everyone wants to see her play!”
He added:
"I think if she's happy at the end of her career, that's all that matters because nobody will remember the end of her career. You remember it now because it's fresh, but everyone will remember what a champion she was, all the Grand Slams she won, the things she brought to tennis and how she made history. The end of her career is an anecdote."

- Having spent weeks and weeks through the years on tour, I can say with confidence that Conchita was (is) one of the very few who realize the surprising level of maturity (and sometimes lack of) which Mirra seems to have developed in such a demanding adult world of Pro-Tennis. While at the same time reminding herself (Conchita, that is) that Mirra is still young and developing mentally and physically. The general public may forget at times, or not at all realize, these modern era young athletes do not have a 'normal' Youth. It's a major sacrifice, among countless sacrifices, these athletes must make.
