It was a good display from Zverev who overcame the big-serving American in straight sets 7-5 6-4 6-3 to advance to the next round. It wasn't easy for Zverev who had to work hard in order to overcome the American. Cressy started the match well hitting his serves which made it tough for Zverev to find any chances. The German was strong on his serve as well so we only saw one break point in the whole opening set. It was very late in the set when Sasha's patience paid off and he got his chance which he used to seal the deal 7-5.
The next two sets followed a similar pattern as both players continued to serve well. This time around there were a few more chances for both players but once again it was the German who proved better in key points converting a break point late in the set to clinch it 6-4. Cressy was visibly frustrated with his inability to use break points. Those struggled continued in the final set as well as the American failed to use more early break points he had.
Frustration from that boiled over to the next game which he lost giving Zverev the advantage he needed. From there it was cruise control for Zverev who would add another break before ending the set 6-3. In in all, it was a strong display from Zverev who showcased his strong serve along with patience and calmness in key moments.
