Alexander Zvereve resorted to honesty after suffering another loss against Lehecka at the
United Cup explaining that he's been pain-free for a short time.
Zverev is not playing his best tennis at the moment and it's mainly due to a long absence from the court and a lack of practice time leading up to these events. The reason is simple. It's the injury and it's one from which it was very tricky to recover. Zverev confirmed that after the loss to Lehecka explaining that he's only been pain-free for a few weeks:
"To be honest, I'm only pain-free for about two, three weeks now. Since all of Saudi Arabia basically. Before that I had pain and I wasn't able to do all the different kind of things I want to do. I don't think it will be a matter of tomorrow, after tomorrow. It will be a few weeks until I'm back to the level I want to be."
Zverev earlier highlighted that he won't be playing his best tennis for a while until he gets back to the swing of things and he doesn't have any set of expectations:
"I think it's tough to set expectations high right now It would be unrealistic and also quite stupid for me to set the expectations towards winning or something like that. Of course, I want to win. Everybody wants to win. For me, it's about getting back the form that I'm used to."
