After winning her opening match, Iga Swiatek added another win to her resume as she smashed Yulia Putintseva 6-1 6-3 to give Poland another point.
Many expected Iga Swiatek to roll through opponents at the United Cup and so far she's been doing just that. The latest victim was Yulia Putintseva as she stood no chance against the Polish player who looks as good as ever. The first set was an early wake-up call for Putintseva as she was smashed 6-1.
She didn't serve well and watched many balls get converted into winners by Swiatek. 6-1 was the final score but it did not repeat in the second set. Putintseva played that one much better as Swiatek pulled back some of the aggression as well. She did more than enough to win it though as the final score was 6-3 in that one.
Just overall a very dominant performance from the player whose favourred to win the Australian Open.
