The WTA Guangzhou Open is an annual women's professional tennis tournament on the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Tour. It is held in Guangzhou, China, usually in the month of September.
The Guangzhou Open is categorized as an International-level event, which means it is part of the WTA 250 series. As such, it offers valuable ranking points and prize money to the participants, providing an opportunity for players to improve their rankings and earn rewards.
The tournament features a draw of 32 players, including both established players and rising stars in women's tennis. Matches are played on outdoor hard courts, which is a common surface for many tennis tournaments.
The Guangzhou International Women's Open as it is also referred to, is held since 2004.  The inaugural tournament had Li Na as the first ever Chinese singles title winner. Sofia Kenin from the USA is the current title holder.
