The PPA Red Rock Open featured some of the big-name former
tennis players. The
padel tournament was recently organised, and former tennis stars such as
Sam Querrey,
Jack Sock, and
Eugenie Bouchard participated in different categories.
Sock had an impressive outing in the competition in the singles category, where he secured three back-to-back wins, which ensured him a spot in the last four of the competition. In the last-four clash, he is set to
face Connor Garnett.
In the mixed doubles category, he and his partner Kaitlyn
Christian lost in the second round to the pair of Allyce Jones and Travis
Rettenmaier. In the men’s doubles category, Sock and his partner Ivan
Jakovljevic lost to the pair of Brandon French and Wyatt Stone in just 45 minutes.
Former Canadian tennis player and 2014 Wimbledon runner-up Bouchard was featured in the mixed doubles with French, but they lost to the pair of Victoria DiMuzio and Roscoe Bellamy with a score of 11-6, 6-11, 11-7. She then lost in
the women’s doubles category with partner Genie Erokhina to the pair of Anna Leigh
Waters and Catherine Parenteau in straight sets with a score of 11-6, 11-2. In the
singles category, Bouchard lost to Jalina with a score of 11-6, 12-10.
On the other hand, Querrey, who retired from the sport back
in 2022 and finished his tennis career with 10 ATP titles to his name, appeared
in just the doubles category where he and his partner Ryan Sherry lost to the
pair of Hunter Johnson and Quang Duong in straight sets with a score of 11-0,
11-2.
