Iga Swiatek and Alex De Minaur shared differing opinions on the best place for coffee during their on-court interviews at the Australian Open. The Polish 5-time Grand Slam champion breezed past Rebecca Sramkova, while the local star, World No. 8, had no trouble defeating Tristan Boyer.
Once Swiatek's match ended – a 6-0, 6-2 victory for the World No. 2 – she was asked about her thoughts on coffee in Australia during the on-court interview. "You're a great coffee lover and coffee drinker. What is Iga Swiatek's coffee order, and how is the coffee in Melbourne compared to the rest of the world?"
"Well, I gotta say, in Sydney I found better coffee shops..." Swiatek said, before being interrupted by the crowd's boos. "But no, no guys, the thing is that it’s not easy for me to fall asleep, so during a Grand Slam, my coffee levels need to be a little bit lower. I only drink it before the match, so I didn’t do the right research, so sorry for my answer," she said, smiling as the crowd continued booing.
"But I mean, overall I think in Australia it’s hard to get bad coffee, you know, like every coffee shop keeps really great quality, and my order will always be flat white on oat milk," she added in conclusion.

A few minutes later, on Rod Laver Arena, Alex De Minaur finished his match against Tristan Boyer, defeating him comfortably 6-2, 6-4, 6-3, progressing to the third round without dropping a set. Once the match ended, during the on-court interview, De Minaur was asked what he does in his free time while in Melbourne. "We go and find the best coffee shop in town, that’s what we do," he said, referring to himself and his girlfriend, World No. 25 Katie Boulter.
The interviewer then brought up Swiatek’s recent situation after her straight-set win over Rebecca Sramkova. "Iga said that coffee is better in Sydney, what do you have to say to this Melbourne crowd and Iga?" the interviewer asked De Minaur.
"Look, I bet to keep this amazing crowd on my side, so look, there’s no better place for coffee than Australia," the local star replied, drawing applause from the Australian crowd.

Better than @iga_swiatek's answer, @alexdeminaur, but it feels like the Melbourne Park crowd craves greater specificity!
