Earlier this year Kim Clijsters announced she will return to pro tennis in 2020, but now she raised doubts about her return as she announced she will not compete in January.
4-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one in both singles and doubles is awaited to return soon. But now she announced in her tweet, that she will not come back in January as she needs to recover from a knee injury. She wrote on her Twitter:
"I’ve had to make the decision that I will not be able to compete in January. I am undergoing rehab and treatment for a knee injury. It’s a setback but I’m determined as ever to get back to the game I love. I really appreciate all your support and encouragement."
