Coco Gauff and Frances Tiafoe named as part of Most Stylish People of 2023 countdown

Two American tennis players have been named in The New York Times’ 71 most stylish people in 2023 list.

World number three in the women’s singles category Coco Gauff and her fellow countryman and world number 16 in the men’s singles category Frances Tiafoe have been named in the list published by media organisation.

Gauff is often termed as one of the most highly-rated player currently playing in the women’s singles category. She had a fabulous year at the highest level where she ended up winning her maiden Grand Slam.

Gauff defeated the current world number two Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka in the final of the US Open 2023 with a score of 2–6, 6–3, 6–2. Later, she also ended up playing in the semifinal of the WTA Finals event where she lost to fellow American Jessica Pegula with a score of 6-2, 6-1.

On the other hand, Tiafoe did not have a great outing in 2023 as he only managed to play in the fourth round or beyond once despite playing in the main round of all Grand Slams. His most notable performance came at the US Open where he played in the quarterfinal but lost to fellow American Ben Shelton with a score of 6-2, 3-6, 7-6, 6-2.
