During the Coronavirus outbreak, Fabio Fognini, like many others, is staying at home and now he spoke to Italian sports channel Sky Sports about the current situation.

Fognini did not have a successful season so far. He lost 6 of the 11 matches he played and he is not part of TOP 10 anymore. After the Tour was suspended until 7th June due to Coronavirus, Fognini needed to head back home and train there. In the newest interview, the Italian opens up about the current situation when he says:
“Together with Corrado Barazzutti, we have not yet felt ready to resume training. Unfortunately, Coronavirus has brought tennis to its knees and right now it is the best to stay at home. Certainly, the freezing of the ranking seems to me the most and right thing”, said Fognini.
"It is difficult to say whether we will be able to win the Davis Cup, but we will be able to present ourselves in Madrid with the best team possible. Sinner will have to understand the meaning of the competition, while Matteo Berrettini reached the ATP Finals after a series of extraordinary results. Personally I care a lot. The blue shirt is something special for me and we will certainly go out on the court to do something great”, said Fognini.
“I would like to play a Grand Slam final against Roger, my idol. If it happened at Roland Garros, it would be really the best, even if he has missed it a couple of times in the last few years."
Fognini also spoke about the possibility of his wife, Flavia Pennetta, returning to tennis. Pennetta was world number 6 in 2015 when she managed to win the US Open.
"With the players who are today, I told her that she must reflect on the possibility of returning to play. Clijsters is back and Serena Williams is not dominating in the same way after her comeback as compared to before.”
