Simona Halep is one of the main players on the WTA Tour and this past week, she reflected on how the Coronavirus lockdown is going for her at this point.

Halep detailed that despite her being injured during Indian Wells, she was preparing and so was in shock and was sad that everything then had to be stopped.
She went onto say that it’s not only the fans that miss the action, it is the players too so she is looking forward to returning to court.
“I was preparing myself one week before they closed everything,” Halep recalled on the Tennis Legends vodcast.
“I couldn’t play at Indian Wells because I was injured, but I was so sad hearing the news that everything’s going to get canceled because of this situation…”
“[The players] struggle,” she added. “We miss the Tour. I miss the Tour, I miss the players and all the people that are getting involved in all the tournaments.”
The time off does have a bright side though as Halep went on to explain: “I’ve been at home since February, and I‘ve never been home for so long. Since years ago, and it’s a different life!”
“I wake up around 10 or 11,” she said laughing. “Yes it’s very good to have a lot of sleep! No alarm, no schedule… I just wake up, have a late breakfast...”
