With the global surge in cases of COVID-19, numerous nations are imposing strict travel bans and regulations.

Furthermore, various sporting organizations have also been affected by these regulations. The IOC recently announced it would be postponing the 2020 Tokyo Olympics till next year.
Several tennis players have spoken out about this decision, including Novak Djokovic and Naomi Osaka. World No.3 Karolina Pliskova shared her thoughts in an interview with Tenisovysvet.
"I'm sorry, because I enjoyed the Olympics and the whole atmosphere a lot, but at the moment it is right that it has been postponed." Pliskova stated. "Hopefully I'll look at the Games anyway next year."
"The whole season will be very different and in many ways unusual. So far I can not imagine, after the US Open on concrete to move immediately to clay and prepare for the Paris Grand Slam." The Czech superstar said in reference to Roland Garros being postponed till September, a week after the US Open.
Commenting on the suspension of the WTA Tour due to the pandemic, Pliskova believes it's the right course of action.
"It's unpleasant, of course, but what can be done." stated Pliskova. "It's the same for everyone. Tennis and sport in general are not the main thing now."
When asked how she spends her free time, the 28-year old revealed that she reads and goes for walks in the countryside. Furthermore, she ensures that she follows the proper health guidelines given by the authorities.
"We try to minimize contact, even within the family." Pliskova added. "Of course I wear a mask, trying to boost immunity. I often wash my hands. I was thinking about it and one should find something positive in every situation.
I've been in the tennis circuit for ten years, traveling the world, playing tournaments week after week, under a lot of pressure, my nerves constantly on the run. This forced pause will give me a break, I think I needed it already."
