Previously, Angelique Kerber worked with Torben Beltz during her youth and also senior career. Under the German coach, Kerber won two out of her three Grand Slam titles and became the world number 1 in the WTA Rankings.
After splitting back in 2017, the German duo will work together again in the 2020 season. A statement by Kerber camp says:
“The new coach is an old acquaintance, Torben Beltz, who was with Angelique Kerber in 2016 as she won two Grand Slams and was the year-end No.1 in the world rankings, thus far the most successful year of her career.”
