The
WTA has announced an official tennis video game with the
name of TIEBREAK. The game will also be an official game for the
ATP as well. The
announcement was made on the social media platform X — previously known as
Twitter on Friday.
As per the announcement, the game will be available for
early access on PC (steam) whereas the game will be later available for the other
platforms as well such as Play Station, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. The game will
feature as many as 100 official players from the men’s and women’s categories. The
featured picture was shared by the men’s world number one and Serbia’s
legendary tennis star Novak Djokovic along with the women’s world number three
and America’s young tennis sensation Coco Gauff.
The developer was quoted on Steam where they expressed optimism
that the game will be able to give entertainment to the fans in the future. “Our
ambition with Tiebreak is to create the best and most complete tennis game to
date,” the statement read. “The team are combining the strengths of AO Tennis
2, Tennis World Tour 2 plus some new mechanics never seen before in a tennis
game! We have developed what we believe is a very solid gameplay proposition
that we now feel is ready to get into player's hands. While gathering feedback and
improving the gameplay, the early access will also allow us to finalize
content, release additional tennis players, game modes and tools during the
updates”
