Czech supertalent
Linda Fruhvirtova secured the second week of the
Australian Open after a win over compatriot Marketa Vondrousova.
Fruhvirtova won her maiden trophy late last year and she's started this year on fire. The 17-year-old keeps playing well and a favourable draw will see her in the second week of the Australian Open. To do so, she defeated compatriot Vondrousova 7-5 2-6 6-3. Both struggled physically in the match with injuries but the younger player managed to be the one to finish the job.
Fruhvirtova will improve dramatically in the rankigns and possibly enter the top 50 as a result of this win. If she can book a quarter-final she'll rise even further.
