Abu Dhabi WTA 500 Friday's Schedule of Play with Sofia Kenin

The third day of the WTA 500 Abu Dhabi event brings eight interesting singles matches, with some of the top favorites embracing their second-round encounters at Zayed Sports City's International Tennis Centre.

Katerina Bondarenko and Ons Jabeur open the Centre court action, followed by the top seed and the Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin, who plays against Kirsten Flipkens. The 4th seed Aryna Sabalenka fights against Ajla Tomljanovic, ahead of the clash between Bernarda Pera (prevailed over Donna Vekic in the opening round) and Sara Sorribles Tormo.

Alize Cornet and Paula Badosa wrap up the day on the Centre court, in another encounter that should go down to the wire. On Court 1, Bianca Turati and Veronika Kudermetova step on the court first, followed by the young Canadian Leylah Fernandez and the Slovenian Tamara Zidansek. In the eighth and last singles match of the day, Barbora Krejcikova will try to halt the 13th seed Yulia Putintseva.

Marketa Vondrousova, Maria Sakkari, Donna Vekic, Sofia Kenin, Garbine Muguruza and Vera Zvonareva will be active on the double court, trying to play as many matches as possible in the season's opening event and the only test ahead of Melbourne.
