Alycia Parks and Sloane Stephens win first doubles match together in Austin

Alycia Parks crashed out of the singles event but she won in the doubles event by pairing compatriot Sloane Stephens as they advanced to the quarter-final.
Parks and Stephens never played together but they paired up for the Austrin event with a winning start. Both possess skill that is suited for doubles serves as Parks and her serve can do a lot of damage. It was on full display against a very strong combination of Dayana Yastremska and Marta Kostyuk.
They took a close first set 7-5 but lost the second set 3-6. We saw a very exciting match tiebreak where the Americans were the first pairing to get to 10 securing the win. Due to the draw they advance to the quarter-final with hopes of going even further. If Parks can be serving well and Stephens remained focus they might just go all the way.
