Bianca Andreescu took down Emma Raducanu in a very exciting match 6-3 3-6 6-3 while Amanda Anisimova retired against Madison Brengle at the Miami Open.
The highlight of the second day of the event is the match between Raducanu and Andreescu and it was a really good match. The first set saw Andreescu play really aggressive tennis which worked out in her favour really well. She took the set 6-3 dominating on her own serve and giving Raducanu plenty of problems on her own serve.
The second set was a bit different as it was the opposite this time around. Raducanu applied heavy pressure on her opponent while she dominated on her own serve. The 8th game proved crucial as Raducanu finally broke after a lot of back and forth between the players in that one. She won the set 6-3 but in the end, Andreescu prevailed 6-2 in the final set.
Raducanu could have won the match but she failed to convert three consecutive break chances early in the final set after which her game kind of deteriorated with Andreescu coming out on top 6-2.
Amanda Anisimova won't be joining her in the second round of the event as she retired down 6-7(5) 2-5 against Madison Brengle. A poor year continues for Anisimova.
