Australian tennis star
Nick Kyrgios has cryptically hinted
that Kazakhstan’s
Elena Rybakina is getting some help from someone after
topping the service charts.
The 24-year-old, in a post shared on social media platform X
— previously known as Twitter — topped the Ace charts in 2024. As of now, she has
produced 181 aces, 24 more than second-placed Karolína Pliskova.
Kyrgios, who has been out of action for more than a year as
he continues his recovery from a knee injury, commented on that post in a cryptic
manner and hinted that Rybakina is getting help from a men’s tennis star who was
famous for a ‘rocket serve’. “Someone was giving her tips on LA….. apparently
his serve is a rocket,” he wrote.
Rybakina recently took part in the Miami Open where she finished
as the runner-up after losing in the final to America’s Danielle Collins with a
score of 7-5, 6-3.
This was the second defeat in the final of an event in 2024
for the Moscow-born. Previously, she lost in the final at the Qatar Open to the
current world number one Poland’s Iga Swiatek in straight sets with a score of
7-6, 6-2.
Despite losing two finals, Rybakina is having an impressive
season as she has also won two WTA titles in the ongoing season. She won the
Brisbane International after beating the current world number two Aryna Sabalenka
in the final in straight sets with a score of 6-0, 6-3.
Rybakina later also won the Abu Dhabi Open after beating Daria
Kasatkina in the final in straight sets with a score of 6-1, 6-4.
