Australia will be facing France in the Fed Cup final which will take place on the 9th and 10th of November in Perth, Australia.
It will be definitely an important event for all of the players. But there is one player who can
end a year as number 1,
WTA Finals winner and also win Fed Cup for her country. Ashleigh Barty spoke about her feelings on the upcoming Fed Cup.
"This is a week that I circled at the beginning of the year, one that we wanted to target as a team and as a nation," Barty told reporters.
"It’s really exciting to be able to finish the year playing for your country - it’s pretty special and without a doubt, it’s something that I’ve been looking forward to for a long time.
"Now we’re only a few days away from starting. It would be right up there (as a 2019 achievement) without a doubt. Midway through the year again [I] really wanted to target (this) and make sure I was fit and healthy and doing everything possible to be right for this weekend."
The Australian team is led by captain Alicia Molik and fighting for the points will be Barty, Tomljanovic, Stosur, Sharma and Hon. The French team is captained by French Open champion in doubles Julien Benneteau. For the final, he chose Mladenovic, Garcia, Cornet, Ferro and Parmentier. The final will kick-off on Saturday at 11:00 local time, 03:00 GMT.
