Former world No 1
Caroline Wozniacki is starring in a new TV show about becoming a new mum after she left the tennis world to focus on the next chapter of her life.
‘Wozniacki & Lee’ focusses on the Australian Open champion’s life with her former NBA player husband David Lee and their journey into becoming parents for the first time following the birth of their daughter Olivia last year.
The series premiered on March 21 on Viaplay after it was produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production Denmark and it features Wozniacki’s friends from the tennis world such as Serena Williams and Agnieszka Radwanska.
“I love spending time with my family, they’re amazing, with my dad being my coach I’d see him every day on the court – my parents are extremely supportive and whatever it is that I need they’re always the first people I call for help,” the 31-year-old revealed.
“For many years it’s been about us (Wozniacki and Lee) and becoming parents is a new and very different chapter in our lives.
“It’s always a bit nerve-wracking to share a personal story but being part of this documentary has given us the possibility to look back at our careers and share the most fantastic story in our lives – becoming parents to Olivia.”
Back when she was playing, the Dane held the No 1 spot for a total of 71 weeks and she won her only Grand Slam title in Australia in 2018 when she beat Simona Halep.
Despite being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis after the 2018 US Open she recovered and played her last match at the 2020 Australian Open when she lost to Tunisian Ons Jabeur, but she left the court with the crowd chanting ‘Sweet Caroline’.
