Bianca Andreescu has had a very disappointing 2021 that saw her only good result came at the Miami Open.
After reaching the final in Miami Andreescu suffered from injuries, COVID-19, more injuries and bad losses. Andreescu never found her groove on clay and with the Tour switching back to hard courts the Canadian is hopeful for a bounce back. Asked what it felt not to play over a year she remembered:
“It was a complete stop … and that was probably the worst feeling that I had. It brought me down many levels because after that I didn’t play for a year and a half. You go from that high to that low … And it’s like, how do I get back into that zone?”
Asked about her 2021 struggled she said:
“This year was about adapting a lot. But I think I dealt with it in the best way I could and I learned a lot about myself. … I try to just move forward and deal with anything that comes my way and learn from it.”
Andreescu has stuff going off the court as well as she is partnering Amazon Canada where she will share stories from the Tour trough the Alexa Voice Service. Asked about that she said:
“During this time with the pandemic, things haven’t been easy for everyone. So I hope this can bring some smiles to peoples’ faces.”
