2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu has been shortlisted for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award, ahead of the ceremony which takes place this Sunday 19 December.
It's been a brilliant year for Emma Raducanu as the British player climbed over 250 ranking spots to her current ranking of 19 while also winning the 2021 US Open. The Brit was able to do all of that in just a couple of months as she is yet to play a full year on the WTA circuit. She will have the chance to do so in 2022 but before that, she might secure another great accolade.
She has been shortlisted for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award. It's one of the most important awards for athletes awarded in the United Kingdom and winning it would be a big deal for Raducanu. She has emerged as a fan favorite around the world including in her native United Kingdom where people gathered to watch her stunning US Open final performance. The ceremony will be held on December 19th.
