Canadian tennis star
Eugenie Bouchard celebrated her 30th
birthday in style by learning something new. The Montreal-born, in a video on
her social media platform Instagram, revealed that she learnt skiing on her 30th
birthday.
"For my birthday this year I wanted to learn how to
ski!" she wrote. Later, she posted a picture on Instagram as well
with the caption “This is 30." In response to the caption, a host of stars
responded differently but wished Bouchard on her big day.
"This is not what my 30 looks like. HBD!!," Jessica
Pegula responded. "Happy Birthday Lovey," was written by Sloane
Stephens. "Hotttt,” was the comment of fellow Canadian player Bianca
Andreescu.
Bouchard recently became the first big-name player to openly
announce that she will be playing both tennis and pickleball. The 30-year-old
did not have a great outing on the court in 2023 where she could not qualify for
the main round of any mega-event.
The 2014 Wimbledon finalist’s last appearance in a Grand
Slam came way back in 2020 when she was eventually knocked out of the French
Open after losing to the current world number one Poland’s Iga Swiatek in
straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
