"It means a lot and makes us hungry for more" - Mouratoglou looking forward after Halep's win in Toronto

Simona Halep's coach Patrick Mouratoglou was delighted with his proteges triumph in Toronto as the coach revealed they are gunning for more.

Halep came close to a trophy a couple of times this year but only now did she get her first one. It was a big one with the WTA 1000 event in Canada and Mouratoglou agrees that is a big and important one. It's that way because it's their first one together and it should give Halep confidence moving forward:

"I want to congratulate Simona (Halep). You have been an incredible competitor all week and shown once again why you have such a relentless career. Once again, it is an honour for me to be by your side. This is our first title together and a big one. With 18 out of the Top 20 in the draw, it means a lot… and makes us hungry for more."

The duo will move their attention to Cincinnati with the US Open not far behind.
