Ons Jabeur made a candid admission in the Netflix show Breaking Point explaining how she thought she would be quitting tennis to become a housewife.
Jabeur had an amazing 2022 season reaching two grand slam finals and solidifying herself as the second-best player in the world. It's not something the 28-year-old expected despite the signs being always there. Her career was one that developed slowly but after getting married, Jabeur thought that it may not be worth it anymore.
And then 2022 happened which made her U-turn completely: "I thought that I would be quitting tennis, that I will be a housewife. But I always believed in my dream."
Things clicked for Jabeur for the first time in Madrid where she won the trophy. She said:
“I can’t believe it. It’s crazy, I’m just so happy. I want to scream so loud. Getting this title is all I’ve worked for, this is a big, big step that will make me believe more in myself and makes me believe I can win a Grand Slam.”
Perhaps in Australia in the next two weeks.
