Karolina Pliskova books semi-final spot in Strasbourg

Karolina Pliskova is catching fire at the right time ahead of Roland Garros with the Czech player set to play in the Strasbourg semifinals after a win over Zanevska.

It was far from a perfect match by Pliskova but it was a sturdy performance from Pliskova who is growing more comfortable and more confident in Strasbourg. The Czech player is in need of matches after missing a huge chunk of the season early on in the year and she's getting it done in Strasbourg. Today's match against Zanevska went smoother than the match yesterday.

Pliskova opened with an early break 3-0 and looked well on her way to an easy first set finish. She complicated things by losing her serve midway through and making it 4-4. She was missing badly at this point in the match but luckily she was able to stabilize towards the end of it and win it 6-4. The 2nd set was opened well by both however Zanevska jumped out to an early 3-1 lead.

Pliskova pulled it back to 3-3 because Zanevska could not keep up the high rhythm. The Belgian then broke her opponent once more for the 5-4 lead and served for the set but lost her serve once again. Those missed chances came to bite her in the tiebreak where she was up 5-2 as well. Pliskova fought back and won it with 8-6.
