Nick
Kyrgios criticized the chair umpire's handling of
Mikael Ymer's
disqualification at the Lyon Open.
Nick
Kyrgios is one of the players who has been disqualified from a tournament, with
the situation he experienced at the 2019 Rome Open being particularly
remembered. During his match against Casper Ruud, he was disqualified for
breaking his racket, kicking bottles, and throwing a chair.
The
outburst that Mikael Ymer had on Wednesday during his participation in the ATP
250 Lyon Open led the chair umpire to make the decision to disqualify him after
he struck the umpire's chair with his racket while playing against Frenchman
Arthur Fils.
Australian
player Kyrgios commented on the situation on social media and showed his
support for the Swede.
"Very
true what Mikael is saying. Me also can't believe why the chair umpire does not
go down to check the mark," Rohan Bopanna commented on Krygios’ post.
