American tennis star
Madison Keys and Czech Republic’s Linda
Fruhvirtova played a match for charitable purpose.
The 28-year-old runs a charity foundation Kindness Wins and
as per the post on the page on social media platform X — previously known as Twitter
— two players took part in a match to support the organisation.
"An evening with Madison Keys. Such a special Saturday
night at @TheBocaRaton as our founder played against
Linda Fruhvirtova and
mingled with tennis fans, all while raising money for #KindnessWins. Thank you
to everyone who attended and participated in the fun!"
Keys had an impressive year at the highest level where she
ended up playing in the quarterfinal or beyond in two out of the four Grand Slams.
Her best outing in a major tournament in 2023 came at the US Open where her
journey finally came to an end after losing the semifinal to the world number
two Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus with a score of 0-6, 7-6, 7-6.
Other than that, Keys also played in the quarterfinal at
Wimbledon where once again she lost to Sabalenka with a score of 6-2, 6-4.
On the other hand, Fruhvirtova
did not have a great outing in the major events where she only managed to
qualify for the second round or beyond once.
