Maria Sakkari booked the final in Parma beating Danka Kovinic 7-5 6-2 with the match being postponed from yesterday due to rain.
Sakkari and Kovinic should have played yesterday but it rained all day in Parma making that pretty impossible. The added day help Sakkari recover in the best possible way and she was able to win this match far easier than any other this week.
She battled with poor play in her previous match but finally, things clicked for her and having a day more to prepare and rest certainly played a factor. She jumped out to an early 3-1 lead immediately setting a good tone for the match but also allowing Kovinic to battle back.
Eventually, Sakkari found a chance and converted it as she was in pretty good rhythm overall and she's a far better talent than her opponent. The second set was much simpler overall for her as she cruised to a 6-2 finish thanks to some great play. It was the best she played all week long and the final will give her a chance at another trophy.
She has only one despite playing in five finals.
