The GSB Thailand Open resumes on Tuesday with No.2 seed Petra Martic headlining the day's action.
The World No.15 will kick off her campaign against China's Xinyu Wang, who is currently ranked 134th in the world. Martic fell to Julia Goerges in the second round at the Australian Open, but has won six of her last seven matches against Chinese players.
No.3 seed Qiang Wang faces compatriot Xinyu Han in her opening round match. Although Wang pulled off
a stunning upset against Serena Williams at the 2020 Australian Open, she trails Han 3-6 in career meetings.
Shuai Peng of China takes on countrywoman Yue Yuan, while sixth seeded Yafan Wang faces Romanian Patricia Maria Tig.
There will be a number of unseeded players in action, as Austrian Barbara Haas meets Japan's Chihiro Muramatsu. Xinyu Wang will face Taiwan's En-Shuo Liang, this will be Liang's second WTA main draw appearance as she last competed on the WTA circuit in Nanchang in 2018.
Poland's Katarzyna Kawa takes on India's Ankita Raina while Russian Varvara Flink will face seventh seed Lin Zhu of China. Zhu has lost her last three matches against Russian players, so she hopes to break the streak against Flink.
A number of top-seeded players were in action on Monday, as fourth seed Saisai Zheng defeated Serbian Natalija Kostic 7-6(6) 6-0. Eighth seeded Nao Hibino of Japan overcame Australian Arina Rodionova 7-6(5) 7-5 in a close encounter that saw Hibino save all eight break points faced.
